Elmina is in the Central Region of Ghana and is known to be one of the most deprived areas in
the country. It has on record, the highest rate of teenage pregnancy. This is because of the low
level of education and inability to access educational facilities and poverty. KLM again, shared
the vision with some students from the University of Cape Coast. Twenty students volunteered to
work towards the vision. Within a period of two weeks, the volunteers had succeeded in securing
“Christ Cares Preparatory School” in the Bantuma area, to be used for the free supplementary
school. The total number of children who attended the first Saturday class was 400.
The number actually overwhelmed KLM. On the next meeting, the number increased to five hundred,
it now has 600 children in weekly attendance. As always, Kingdom Lifestyle Mission distributed
stationery to the school children. The proprietor of the Christ Cares school, who is the mother
of the head teacher of Christ Cares Preparatory School offered to provide her canteen and staff
for preparing lunch for the school children every Saturday.
KLM Elmina School has received a lot of press coverage and interest by the Ghanaian media, some
of the media houses that follow our story are UTV and Joy FM.

“Since I joined KLM, it has helped me a lot in the core subjects, and I have also enjoyed
being part of it because it has really shaped my life in Christ”.

I am grateful for the sacrifice KLM volunteers have made for us. I would like to thank the founder of the KLM for choosing our school. I personally appreciate their work of supporting us alongside our teachers and their impact is great and much appreciated. I am a former pupil of this school and a direct beneficiary of KLM project though they started with us toward the end of last year, their efforts have made great changes in my personal study life and have contributed to my passing in last year’s national exams. I passed very well and now I am a student of Juba commercial secondary school. I thank KLM volunteers for their work and sacrifice for me; they are like burning candle trying the make the future of others bright at the expense of their own leisure time. Thank you God bless you. Iam looking forward to doing the same when I finish my secondary school studies.
Student at Juba commercial secondary school and former pupil at John Garange Bilpham primary school.
Glory be to God the creator. My name is Ester Ajan, I am a class eight pupil from Dr John Garang Bilpham Primary school. First and foremost I would like to thank KLM for the work they are doing for us in our school, I can say they are really helping us a lot, they don’t just come to help with teaching alone but to encourage us and build our lives with the word of God. Since they have been with our class we became more active and participatory. They teach us math, English language, Christian education science and social studies.
