Madina School

The first Kingdom Lifestyle Mission school was set up in Madina, Accra in November 2013. We secured a school premises (Greater Love School) and on the opening day about 120 school children from the Madina Zongo community showed up. This proved their immense desire for learning and education. They children come from the following schools: Madina Demonstration Junior High School, Ebenezer Methodist School, Madina M/A Junior High School, Madina Seventh Day Adventist Junior High School, Queen of Peace Basic School and Faith Community Baptist School. The pupils range from primary 2 to JHS 3.

KLM purchased and distributed stationary such as books, pens, pencils and erasers to the pupils. The children are taught by a number of graduates and undergraduate students from the University of Ghana, who volunteer their time each Saturday. The curriculum taught is directly in line with the Ghana Education Service syllabus and is supported by the syllabus books.

The students from the University of Ghana are committed to helping those less fortunate than them as part of their contribution in giving back to their community. The volunteers are presently sixteen in number. The school children are also served lunch at the end of each Saturday class. KLM Madina was officially launched 3rd April 2014 at the prestigious British Council in Accra and received a lot of press coverage and interest from the Ghanaian media.

Testimony of a KLM student Santino Deng in South Sudan

I am grateful for the sacrifice KLM volunteers have made for us. I would like to thank the founder of the KLM for choosing our school. I personally appreciate their work of supporting us alongside our teachers and their impact is great and much appreciated. I am a former pupil of this school and a direct beneficiary of KLM project though they started with us toward the end of last year, their efforts have made great changes in my personal study life and have contributed to my passing in last year’s national exams. I passed very well and now I am a student of Juba commercial secondary school. I thank KLM volunteers for their work and sacrifice for me; they are like burning candle trying the make the future of others bright at the expense of their own leisure time. Thank you God bless you. Iam looking forward to doing the same when I finish my secondary school studies.

Student at Juba commercial secondary school and former pupil at John Garange Bilpham primary school.

Glory be to God the creator. My name is Ester Ajan, I am a class eight pupil from Dr John Garang Bilpham Primary school. First and foremost I would like to thank KLM for the work they are doing for us in our school, I can say they are really helping us a lot, they don’t just come to help with teaching alone but to encourage us and build our lives with the word of God. Since they have been with our class we became more active and participatory. They teach us math, English language, Christian education science and social studies.
